I haven’t posted much about books lately. (Actually, I haven’t posted much about anything lately!) :-) But, I have been reading pretty much anything I can get my hands on… I love the written word.
I love fiction that takes me on “mental vacations” to far away places and times, and tells stories of love, hope, and adventure. I also love to soak up wisdom in non-fiction (mostly in reference to faith and family). I was stacking up a few books the other day that have been lying around needing to be shelved and thought, “Wow! I can’t believe I’ve read all of these since January!”
In light of that little revelation, I thought I’d share a list of “Reeder’s Readings” (Don’t you just love how PUNNY that is??) with you all… I’ve even categorized them for you! :-)
Non-Fiction (Teaching/Inspiration)
Extraordinary Women (still reading… devotional)
Nice Girls Don’t Change the World
Fiction (Read with Children)
Percy Jackson & the Lightening Thief
Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat
Fiction (Just for Mama)
Since there are only four more days left in our school year (YAHOO-JAH!!), I am making a list of what I want to read this summer. I think it’s important to model good habits for my children, so I’m doing this to hopefully encourage them to tackle some Summer Reading of their own. (Hey. A girl can dream can’t she?) :-)
I always have a book handy for the beach or the pool, and especially on lazy summer afternoons when it’s too hot to do anything else but stay inside in the air-conditioning!
That’s where you come in. What do you HIGHLY recommend that I add to my Summer Reading List?
Come on, now… I’m ready to soak up more than a little sun this summer!! :-)

I work for GodTube.com and have been following your blog. I loved your list of books, and hope to read a few of them this summer! "Heaven for Real" is especially great, so I thought I'd share this video with you: http://www.godtube.com/watch/?v=KLD6GWNX
Looking forward to your next post!
The Help ... you will love it! Such a good, good book.
I'm reading Ann Voskamp's "One Thousand Gifts," which moves me in the most profound ways. I read, and before I know it, I'm in tears. I love her writing.
I'm also reading "Sun Stand Still," which I know you know is great.
Along with all the books we got at retreat, I have a ton on my Nook wishlist, and others I've started that I need to finish, so I will be hanging out by the pool and beach this summer doing the very same thing! I love that you're a "REEDER". :)
OK-here's the list I have read this year...
