Thankful Thursday

Before I get to my list for today, I just want to take a moment to thank Iris from the bottom of my heart for hosting Thankful Thursday.  If you are like me, you begin the week hopeful, energetic, and full of promise.  By Thursday however, I am tired, cranky, and not so nice to be around.  Then I do my Thankful Thursday post and it totally turns my mood/attitude around.  (The Gorilla goes back into her cage!!!...to really get that one you need to listen to this.)

So THANK YOU, IRIS...you'll never know how much this little retreat means to me!!!

Now...on to other things...

1) I am thankful to Folger's for Hazelnut Creme...I am indulging my crankiness this morning (trying to limit caffeine for weight loss purposes) and it's SOOOO good!

2) I am thankful for a husband that loves me enough to have tough conversations with me.  (I knew I was going to be put to the test for that "submission" speech I gave a few weeks ago! ha ha!!)  I've made a couple of poor spending choices lately (we are working towards Financial Freedom...thanks Joe!!), and last night he called me on the carpet.  While my flesh wanted to spit and spew and defend myself, the Spirit within me reminded me of this fact, and I surrendered.  I love my husband very much, and I am sorry to have disappointed him, but I am also thankful that once it's said, it's over...and he forgives me for my mistakes. He's so precious!

3) I am thankful for two boys that wrestle all over the living room in their pajamas, laughing all the while.  (Going on right now as I write).   This means that they are "bonding" as brothers, and I can't tell you how much that thrills my soul!

4) I am thankful for a Princess who, at school today, will receive her reward for reaching her 100 Point Accelerated Reader goal.  She was so excited to have reached this milestone, and I am SO proud of her!

5) I am thankful for the rain that fell last night while we were sleeping; it was much needed.

6) I am thankful for the pile of laundry that is waiting on me, the bathrooms that I will be cleaning today, and the floors that I will be mopping.  This reminds me that I have clothes to wear and a lovely home to live in.  I am also thankful for the sheets that I will be changing, because that means I will have a warm, cozy, freshly made bed to sleep in tonight! Yay!!

7) I am thankful that each day, each morning, means a new beginning.  God is so gracious to go on giving us chance after chance to make things right, and live life His way. What a wonderful Savior!!!

If you would like to check out other Thankful Thursday posts, check out the Sting My Heart blog.  Have a great day!!!

In His Love,

Susanne

I agree that taking Thursdays to sit down and write/type what we are thankful for is so refreshing. My hubby asked me if I posted anything this morning, and I was so happy to say "Yes, it's Thankful Thursday." Enjoy your day.

Thanks for sharing today and I agree with how TT turns everything around. I am submitting to my husband who does not want another dog and I do. I don't like it one it one bit!! But I am dealing with it and asking the Lord to not allow me to be angry over it!

I love the Thankful Thursdays also. It's so awesome to focus on a grateful heart. We've had rain here too. Everything is such a beautiful green and the flowers are gorgeous. His mercies are new to us every morning. Praise God!
Blessings on the rest of your week.

I am new at this Thankful Thursday blog - and I already love it. It does a heart good to give thanks!
I especially agree with #2 - my husband and I have those conversations occasionally. You have a good attitude about it.
Blessings.

I was just at the market looking at the Hazelnut Creme coffee and didn't pick it up but I will have to try it now that you posted about it.

I enjoyed your thankful list, and I hear what your saying about what blessing Thankful Thursday brings to my day. It's not always easy to take that first step, but it's always a blessing.
This week I found myself humming that old hymn. "Count your blessings; name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done." So true! I'm always surprised and blessed. Thanks for sharing your list.

Thank you for the kind words regarding Thankful Thursday. Women like you make it special, because you take the time to look around you and recognize weekly that we are truly blessed.

Even a 'season' woman like myself still learns how to be good wife. It some times is still hard to learn new lessons, but I know it is worth it.
Your children are so precious. I love the pictures you are sharing with us in your sidebar.
Congrats to your little girl's wonderful goal in reading.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.

Blessings on your weekend and always.

Thanks for the shout-out! You guys CAN achieve Financial Freedom! Don't allow a couple of steps backward to prevent you from moving forward!
